In a nutshell: The Cyber Questionnaire Validator

Kill the Questionnaire. Why? Because it's the largest source of friction in the Lloyd's market. To kill the questionnaire, the first step is to... make a better questionnaire. ... a questionnaire that answers itself. ... with a.i. hackers.

Updated over 2 months ago

What it is: The Cyber Questionnaire Validator is a module within the BreachRisk™ for Insurance platform. It has a singular purpose: to kill the cyber questionnaire.

Who it's for: Cyber brokers and underwriters (especially those in the middle and upper markets)

Purpose of this article: Convey foundational concepts of the nature of The Cyber Questionnaire Validator quickly, to help you dive in to specific topics without getting really confused

The Cyber Questionnaire Validator is:

  • a library of questions

  • automatically answered

  • from a hacker perspective

  • a friendly, modern interface

  • trusted to be fair + accurate

  • up-to-date with latest threats

  • designed with brokers & underwriters

  • highlighting evidence to "say Yes" to the applicant

  • filtering out false positives so you don't look like an idiot

  • a way to help brokers and underwriters quickly agree on the nature of the risk so that they can talk less and bind faster in order to meet the accelerating worldwide demand for cyber insurance (especially in the middle, upper, and complex markets where legacy questionnaires can be more than 100 questions long)

The Cyber Questionnaire is not:

  • replacing the broker

  • replacing the underwriter

  • just "Yes" and "No" answers

  • just "a simple external scan"

  • expecting you to be an expert

  • "scanning .pdf uploads of your questionnaires"

  • aligned to a specific questionnaire in the market

How it works

Using only the name of the applicant and the website, The Cyber Questionnaire Validator ("validator" for short) asks and answers the questions that help you prepare clients for the market and underwrite.

  1. Prepare/collect the application as you normally would

  2. Provide name and website of client/applicant to the BreachRisk™ platform

  3. BreachRisk™ a.i. uses hacker tradecraft to automatically (and ethically) plan an attack against the applicant, answering questions from the validator library along the way

  4. View the answers (and perhaps compare answers with the usual application, looking for things to match up according to your comfort)

  5. Decide if you can proceed - or if you need more information from the applicant

  6. Track the client over time - whether you bind with them or not
